Talia supported a local NGO of an African country during their disaster relief operations and during the post-disaster reconstruction process. Efficient communications were critical to ensure the success of such projects. High-speed IP communications links via satellite, provided first responders, medical and emergency teams to have full communications capabilities with HQ teams, as well as enabling communities to keep in touch with families and friends.
High volumes of time-critical situational data were sent in real-time, and the use of Thuraya satellite phones allowed field workers to communicate while travelling around the disaster zone. CCTV cameras were installed to ensure the safety of the field teams and security of aid supplies and equipment.
