Supply Chain Manager

Overseeing & Managing the entire process of product procurement, production, staging and distribution.

Detailed breakdown of the job description:

  1. Procurement: Responsible for sourcing raw materials, components, and services required for production and or Project delivery. This involves negotiating contracts with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods.
  2. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure that materials are available when needed without excess stockpiling. This involves implementing inventory control measures to minimize carrying costs while meeting production demands.
  3. Production Planning: Work closely with Suppliers/production teams to develop production schedules that optimize resources and minimize downtime. This includes forecasting demand, scheduling production runs, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  4. Logistics and Distribution: Manage the transportation and distribution of finished products to customers, project Teams, project warehouse. This involves coordinating with logistics partners, optimizing shipping routes, and monitoring delivery schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
  5. Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring open communication and addressing any issues that may arise. This includes conducting supplier performance evaluations and implementing strategies to improve supplier reliability and quality.
  6. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as supplier disruptions, geopolitical instability, or natural disasters. This involves developing contingency plans and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to production and delivery.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain, seeking opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. This may involve implementing new technologies, optimizing workflows, or reevaluating supplier relationships.
  8. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as sales, marketing, Service delivery and finance to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives. This involves coordinating cross-functional teams to address issues and capitalize on opportunities for growth.
  9. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing supply chain operations. This includes staying updated on changes in regulations and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  10. Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics tools to gather and analyze data related to supply chain performance, identifying trends, and areas for improvement. This involves generating reports and presenting findings to senior management to inform decision-making.

Overall, as a Supply Chain Manager, you play a critical role in optimizing the flow of materials and products throughout the supply chain, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, operations management, or a related field experience of minimum Three years in a similar position. Field experience in the Telecom, Oil & Gas industry will be an advantage.
  • Experience: 3-5 Years.
  • Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, inventory management, procurement, and distribution is essential. Experience working in the specific industry or sector relevant to the hiring company can also be beneficial.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership and management skills are crucial for effectively leading cross-functional teams, managing suppliers, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain. Experience in a supervisory or managerial role is preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions is important for optimizing supply chain processes and improving efficiency. Proficiency in using analytical tools and software is required.
  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, collaborating with internal teams, and resolving conflicts or issues that may arise within the supply chain.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Supply chain managers must be adept at identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing corrective actions to address issues and minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with supply chain management software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and other relevant technology platforms is often required. Experience with tools such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems is preferred.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: The ability to adapt to changing market conditions, unforeseen disruptions, and evolving business needs is essential in the dynamic field of supply chain management.
  • Certifications: While not mandatory, CISCP, CPSM, CISCC, CISCM, can demonstrate expertise and enhance credibility in the field of supply chain management.

Work Location: UAE (Sharjah Saif Zone ) and other offices as may be required by the business.
